Jos Verstappen will be in action at this weekend's Hellendoorn Rally. Max Verstappen's father is himself a rookie rally driver who competes for Verstappen.com Racing under the DG Sport Competition banner. During his own race weekend, Verstappen senior still commented on his son's performance during the triple-header in Formula 1 and about prolonging the title that seems to be within reach.

The triple header, including the Grands Prix in Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy, was very successfully completed by Verstappen who scored a whopping 77 points. The reigning world champion is now 116 points ahead of the number two in the standings and could retain his world title as early as Singapore.

Exciting

Jos Verstappen reacts opposite Verstappen.com. "Max has a lot of points lead and it looks very positive, but it still has to happen. Everyone is ready for the title, but it's still exciting. I actually want to be there for all the races, just in case it happens. I will definitely go to Singapore and depending on how things look after that, I will fly on to Japan with Max."

Verstappen senior says he has seen his son win in the last races from seventh, 10th and even 14th starting spot. He, therefore, sees a good car at the races and hopes his son can start from the front row once more and it will only get easier.

Many points in the lead

The rally driver does not venture to predict where and when the second world title could be won: "I don't really care. The most important thing is that it happens, even if it is during the last race. Of course Max has a lot of points lead, but the only important thing is that he becomes champion."
