Max Verstappen has a string of five wins to his name in a row after victories in France, Hungary, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy. The Dutchman is thus not only fast on his way to his second world title, but could also take down a record. Philipp Eng notes that at Servus TV.

Verstappen collected 335 points in 16 Grands Prix so far this season. He put that points tally partly to his credit by picking up 11 victories this race year, which puts him well on his way to breaking the Formula 1 record.

"There have only been three drivers before Max who have won 11 races or more in the same year: Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton," says the Austrian racing driver. "Max can even break Sebastian and Michael's record of 13 wins in the same season. I'm sure he can do that in the next two or three races."

Verstappen shows class

Last race weekend, Verstappen pulled off another handsome win. Due to a grid penalty, he had to start the race from seventh place, but within a few laps he was back in the top three. Eng therefore very much enjoyed Verstappen's performance in Italy.

"You can only do something like that with a lot of talent. On the first lap, it's about staying out of trouble in the crowds and making up ground straight away. It's not easy. It's incredibly clever how he positions the car and how he reads the traffic."
