Like Mattia Binotto and Toto Wolff, Helmut Marko is not happy with the outcome of the Italian Grand Prix. The race was completed behind the safety car, causing us to miss an exciting final lap between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc.

"The bottom line is that our car made it easy again. It was amazing how quickly Max [Verstappen] took the lead. Now we have to win one more time, then we will have set the record," Marko began in conversation with Speed-Magazine.de.

Due to the late safety car, caused by Daniel Ricciardo's stalled car, there were only a few laps left to clear the way for a restart. This eventually did not happen, to the displeasure of the fans present, but also the Formula 1 teams.

Marko: "He should have worked faster".

"Finishing behind the safety car today was definitely not the right decision. I think we would have had a nice finish, even though it might have been exciting. It just wasn't a worthy end to the race here. They should have just worked faster," the Austrian felt.

"Also, for Sergio Perez, the safety car at the end backfired. Fortunately, any circuit will do for us, but let's say Singapore might be a good place to celebrate!" said the Red Bull Racing advisor. Verstappen could win his second world title at the Singapore Grand Prix. He will have to win the race anyway, but then Leclerc will have to finish in eighth position or lower, depending on the fastest lap.
