Massa completes first test in Gen2 Formula E car
Felipe Massa has completed his first test in a Gen2 Formula E car driving for Venturi. The Formula 1 legend announced his move to the electrical division a couple of weeks ago.
Massa retired from F1 last season after an addition season was added, following Nico Rosberg’s retirement and Bottas’ move to Mercedes. Formula E founder and CEO admits the Brazilian has been a target for three years.
“Things don’t happen overnight,” said Alejandro Agag. “We have been talking to Felipe for three years, and I think he’s a great driver and a great guy - a personal friend.
“We pushed a lot for Felipe to come, but at the end of the day it’s the teams who make the decisions - I cannot impose a driver on the teams.”
The start date for the 2018/19 season is yet to be confirmed. It was announced in March that they will use the full circuit in Monaco 2019 rather than a shortened version they’ve used in the past.
