Gunther Steiner believes that Haas is in a better position to deliver a strong car in 2023. This would mainly be due to a new design office based in Maranello. The American team has a technical partnership with Ferrari, which also includes the new department with staff seconded by Ferrari. For Steiner, the main goal is clear: to be more productive when it comes to the 2023 car.

Steiner says they have learned a lot and they keep trying to work even harder on next year's car. As a result, he sees a group of staff who are becoming more and more attuned to each other. "We’ve switched to the design of next year’s car a few months ago, so the team keeps on learning and working hard so that we get a good car for 2023.

Improving competitiveness

Steiner hopes Haas will improve in terms of competitiveness. He expects a tough weekend at Monza as the team has had an inconsistent season, despite achieving Q3 at Zandvoort. He therefore sees Monza as less suited to the Haas car. "We know that Monza will not be a strong point for us. All the high-speed, low-downforce racetracks don’t suit our car", he said. He is realistic that the team will not be able to fight at such fast circuits this year. "The team in Italy is working hard on some solutions for next year and I’m sure we’ll get them so next year we’ll be in a better place."
