On this day in 1972, Formula One's most experienced driver Rubens Barrichello was born in Sao Paolo.

Barrichello's F1 career began in 1993 with Jordan and ended in 2011 with Williams. In his 18 year career, the Brazillian also raced for Stewart, Ferrari, Honda and Brawn. 

He made his debut at the 1993 South African Grand Prix before starting 321 other grand prix's till his last at the Brazilian Grand Prix in 2011. In those starts, Barrichello managed 11 wins, 17 fastest laps, 68 podiums and 658 points - he also started 17 races on pole. 

The Brazilian took 7 years to win his first race, at the German Grand Prix. It was two years till his next win, at the European Grand Prix in 2002, a season when he won three more races - coming second in the drivers title, a feat he repeated in 2004.

Barrichello's final win in F1 came at the 2009 Grand Prix, where he won both the European and Italian Grand Prix - finishing third in the driver's championship with Brawn teammate Jenson Button winning the title.

After retiring from F1, Barrichello moved to the IndyCar series, but after one season he left to participate in the Brazilian Stock Car series.

Barrichello competed in all three parts of the Triple Crown, competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2017, finishing 13th and the Indy 500 in 2012, finishing 11th.
