Sainz confident of points in Monaco but throws caution to the walls!

Renault driver Carlos Sainz is feeling confident the team can score points in Monaco which will boost their 4th place ambitions. Renault are now 1 point above McLaren in 4th place as they look to take the ‘best of the rest’ crown.

His team-mate Hulkenberg lies in 8th, two places about the Spaniard. And like McLaren, it has already been a much-improved start for the French team. 

“After Barcelona, the team climbed up to fourth in the Championship and the target is to consolidate that position in Monaco with more points,” said Sainz. 

Looking ahead to the most prestigious race on the calendar, Sainz admitted he is feeling excited and ready to attack the track all whilst paying attention to the walls. 

“It’s always a good feeling going to Monaco, and that excitement ramps up to another level on the Grand Prix weekend.

“It’s a really unique weekend in every way. The glitz and glamour is unique, there are stunning sports cars everywhere. And lots of impressive yachts.” 

Sainz finished 6th in Monaco last season adding to his previous 2 points finishes in Monte Carlo. He has a 100% record of finishing inside the top 10 at this Grand Prix!
