Daniel Ricciardo can't wait until next week when the Monaco Grand Prix is up on the calendar, as the Aussie admits that the place where he won his first ever pole position is his favourite track.

He couldn't win in 2016 when he got that pole position, even though he got off to a good start in the rainy Monaco street circuit. Slowly, the track dried up, and the drivers were forced to come in to switch to slicks.

Ricciardo's pit stop went completely wrong and Lewis Hamilton snatched P1 from him and saw out the race. A heartbreaking loss for which the Aussie still seeks revenge.

"Monaco is my favourite track of the year," Ricciardo said in Red Bull's preview.

"I get so much adrenaline from that place.

"We drive past walls at bizarre speeds, it's really amazing to race there.

"I hope I can get my revenge this time after the drama of 2016."

It's no secret that Mercedes usually struggle on street circuits like Monaco, which make Red Bull and Ferrari the main contenders for the win there.

"In Barcelona we were very fast in the last sector, which is comparable to the corners in Monaco.

"I can't wait to drive through 'Tabac' and 'Swimming pool', those are up there with my favourite corners."

Will Ricciardo finally get his revenge for 2016? Two wins out of six races would certainly be an impressive yield for him!
