There is currently a summer break in Formula 1, but there is plenty happening in other racing classes. The MotoGP races this weekend at Silverstone and the IndyCar races this weekend in Nashville for the Music City GP. Scott McLaughlin was the fastest in the Fast Six and will therefore start from pole position on Sunday.

In a warm Nashville, a lot happened in qualifying. Among other things, thunderstorms near the track and crashes by Colton Herta and Devlin DeFrancesco interrupted qualifying. In the end, the fastest six from two different groups went through to the second qualifying round. Title contenders Scott Dixon and Indy 500 winner Marcus Ericsson, among others, missed the boat and must find a way forward from the backfield.

Former Alpine junior in top 3

In the second round, Rinus Veekay found his end station. He did not get further than the tenth time and therefore did not make it to the decisive round, the Fast Six. Alex Palou, Romain Grosjean and former Alpine junior Christian Lundgaard did succeed in the Fast Six. Grosjean and Lundgaard eventually qualified second and third, behind Scott McLaughlin. His time of 1:14.5555 was fast enough for pole position.

At 21:15 CET, the drivers will roll out for the start of the Music City GP, which promises to be a very hot race.
