Helmut Marko confirms that grid penalties are still to come for both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. It is now up to Red Bull Racing to pick the right Grands Prix to absorb the penalties.

Grid penalties for Verstappen and Perez

At Motorsport-Total.com Advisor Marko says grid penalties are coming for Verstappen and Perez. After 12 Grands Prix in 2022, both drivers have yet to receive penalties.

Marko is looking at Ferrari, who have often had to start one of its two drivers from the back of the grid because of new engine parts on the car. The Austrian admits it will be no different for Red Bull. According to Marko, the important thing now is to choose the right circuit to absorb the penalties.

The choice of circuits

Normally, this will be done on a circuit where overtaking is possible. Looking at the next few races, Spa-Francorchamps and Monza, with their long straights and heavy braking areas, would therefore stand a good chance.
