Former world champion Damon Hill has stated that Mercedes' time of dominance has ended, as he thinks Hamilton's win in Baku was very lucky while Sebastian Vettel has won twice on pure power from his car.

Mercedes were of course on their way to a one-two finish in Baku Valtteri Bottas tragically got a puncture in final stages of the race, forcing him to retire. Hamilton emerged in first, and got his first win of the season.

"You can clearly see that Ferrari and Sebastian are the strongest at the moment," he wrote for Sky Sports F1.

"Mercedes is no longer the team to beat this season.

"Hamilton won with a lot of luck in Azerbaijan, while Vettel has won twice already purely because of his own ability."

That's why Hill thinks that the guys from Maranello won't have sleepless nights over Hamilton's current lead in the championship.

"Lewis is indeed the championship leader, but he's established that position rather fortunately.

"Vettel had a lot of bad luck in Baku - if nothing crazy happens, he'll be the champion."
