Mattia Binotto is not happy with the 'technical directives' of the FIA. Ferrari's car bounces a lot and could well be affected by these new rules, but according to the Ferrari team boss, the FIA has not acted correctly.

Prior to the Grand Prix weekend in Canada, the FIA came out with new 'technical directives' regarding porpoising. The FIA wants to prevent drivers from being bothered too much by the bouncing, as was the case in Azerbaijan. Binotto understands that the FIA is thinking about a possible solution, but is of the opinion that 'technical directives' are not appropriate.

''For us, a TD does not fit here. A TD explains rules or clarifies how something is controlled. It's not there to adjust rules. That's something for the policy makers. They were introduced by mistake,'' Binotto states to The Race. According to the team boss, there has also been no time to use the new possibilities.

From the Canadian GP teams are allowed to attach an extra rod from the floor to the chassis. Mercedes was the only team to test this in Canada and it has caused suspicion among the competition. After all, how could Mercedes have already finished it? ' 'We could not have made it so quickly,'' Binotto says when Toto Wolff cites that that rod was made in a day by Mercedes.
