Marko warns Red Bull of second rival this season

Mercedes is having a very difficult time in Formula 1 this season. Whereas in recent years the racing team got used to competing at the top of the standings, this year they have to settle for a place in the midfield for now. Helmut Marko warns Red Bull Racing in conversation with Formel1.de, Mercedes can still fight back.

Marko states that at the beginning of the season he doubted that Mercedes actually lacked speed. In recent years the Red Bull advisor has seen the Germans withhold performance on several occasions, so he did not immediately take the team's problems seriously.

In the meantime, he says he has discovered that Mercedes is actually suffering from problems with the car. Among other things, porpoising has long prevented the team of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell from getting the most out of the car.

Marko reckons with Mercedes' revival

Although the title battle is between Ferrari and Red Bull for now, he puts the Austrians on edge in the conversation. According to Marko Mercedes has everything in house to do well this season, so Red Bull have to stay alert in the coming months for a revival at Mercedes. To do so, the formation must first perform more consistently.
