Max Verstappen is now driving his seventh season for Red Bull Racing and the Dutchman is not leaving for the time being either. The reigning World Champion signed a contract this year that ties him to the Austrian team until 2028. If the results remain as they are now, he could go on to break a lot of records for the team. The first record can already be broken this weekend.

Most podium finishes for Red Bull

Verstappen has so far driven 125 races for Red Bull Racing, in which he has finished on the podium 65 times. With his third place in Monaco, Verstappen matched Sebastian Vettel's 65 podium finishes at Red Bull. Should Verstappen finish on the podium in Baku, it will be his 66th podium finish - at Red Bull and overall - and the record within Red Bull will stand on his name. The German driver needed fewer races than Verstappen, 109 in total.

Although Verstappen can take the record for most podiums at Red Bull from Vettel this weekend, the World Champion from 2010 to 2013 remains the most successful driver for the team for the time being. Vettel has won four world titles, 38 victories, 44 pole positions and 24 fastest laps. Verstappen has so far only won one world title, 14 victories, 24 pole positions and 18 fastest laps. Fortunately, Verstappen still has until 2028 to change all the records to his liking.

Little success for Verstappen in Baku

Should Verstappen indeed score his 66th podium finish in Baku, it will be good news in more ways than one. Not only because of the record within Red Bull, which Verstappen most likely doesn't care about, but mainly because of Verstappen's past results on the street circuit. Of the four Grands Prix Verstappen drove here, he managed to finish only once. In 2019, the Dutchman finished fourth and thus has never been on the podium in Azerbaijan. Time to change this.
