After the Monaco Grand Prix it was officially announced what everyone secretly knew for a long time: Sergio Perez will remain with Red Bull Racing in the coming years. The top teams are therefore 'full' in the coming years.

Competition balks

No doubt there are several drivers who resent Perez racing at Red Bull until the end of 2024. Take Fernando Alonso, who in his 40's was hoping for a chance at a team that competes for victory every race. Or Pierre Gasly, who has now shown himself to be Red Bull-worthy.

After his victory in Monaco, Perez already let slip that he may have re-signed too soon. Jolyon Palmer can only confirm that at F1 TV. "Because winning in Monaco would have given him more bargaining space," said the former F1 driver, who says he understands that Perez will staywith the Austrian racing team for two more years.

Good relationship with Verstappen

Palmer says Red Bull has captured a good driver. "They get along well, Checo and Max (Verstappen). Ferrari locked in their duo, Mercedes did the same with Lewis and George Russell. It is a really desiarble seat , and Checo has it."
