Force India expects "double whammy" with new front wing

Force India is expecting a “double whammy” upgrade when they race with their new front wing for the first time. The development is expected to arrive for the Spanish Grand Prix on the 13th May.

The front wing was attached to the car in free practice one at Bahrain. But a problem with the balance of the car during its running prevented the wing from further utilisation.

When asked about the front wing, technical director, Andrew Green remained positive that the upgrade will continue to carry huge improvement.

“We’re still very confident that (the) front wing does exactly what we want of it,” he said.

“It was designed to go with a car that generates more rear load which we don’t have at the moment.

“Once that load appears, we can put the wing on that generates even more rear load, that’s a double whammy, a positive circle.”

The team haven’t got off to a good start having only scored a solitary point. At the start of the season, they were almost certain to be in the running in order to retain their fourth-place finish. This upgrade could be the start of their climb up the ladder.
