According to Tom Coronel, there is a clear difference between title rivals Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. The Dutch driver expects Verstappen to slowly take back the lead in the championship.

At the table at HLF8 Coronel is asked what the difference is between Verstappen and Leclerc. "Verstappen makes fewer mistakes. When Leclerc has won, he has a smile on his face. Have you seen Max smile? You can see him thinking in his head that it's a victory, but also the next one is for him. That's that killer mentality."

Ferrari started the new season strongly, while Red Bull Racing had reliability problems. Nevertheless, the team now seems to be slowly getting back into the fight for the title. Verstappen is only nineteen points behind Leclerc in the drivers' championship.

Strong combination of Verstappen and Red Bull

"At the beginning of the season you could see that Ferrari was a bit faster, but now you just see very clearly that the combination Verstappen-Red Bull is so strong. Max is just going to very carefully cobble back those points he lost at the beginning of the season," the analyst continued.

Dutch pundits and fans are often accused of looking at Formula 1 through orange glasses, but Coronel thinks that's nonsense. "We are currently talking about someone who does it every time as well, so it is not orange glasses. I've been doing motorsport for 33 years now and I've never seen anyone bite so hard."
