Max Verstappen took his third victory of the season in Miami and saw his gap to Charles Leclerc decrease again by eight points. Although Ferrari was the strongest in qualifying, the Italian team had to acknowledge its superiority to Red Bull in the race, as Martin Brundle also saw.

Miraculous speed Red Bull

In his column for Sky Sports Brundle analyses the first-ever Miami Grand Prix, the first of two races in the United States this season. Leclerc and Ferrari were strongest in qualifying for the third time this season, but in the race the roles were reversed. Verstappen won the race and Sergio Perez finished fourth, but without engine problems would almost certainly have grabbed a podium.

"Once again Ferrari had no answer to Red Bull's miraculous speed on the straight, with or without the DRS rear wing open," writes Brundle. According to the former Formula One driver, Ferrari must therefore start coming up with an answer soon. "Otherwise, this will be Red Bull's world championship."

Verstappen and Leclerc impressive

As in the previous races this season, it was Verstappen and Leclerc who fought with each other for victory. According to Brundle, another very impressive and mature drive from both drivers. However, Red Bull's high top speeds give Verstappen and Perez a big advantage over Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. "They have the comfort of watching their tires knowing that they can strike later on a relatively risk-free straight."
