McLaren achieved its first podium finish of the season at the previous race in Imola with Lando Norris. The formation thus hopes to have set the tone for the coming months, knowing that it must keep the driver happy.

Norris is showing once again this season that he has a good dose of talent. Partly due to brake problems at the beginning of the season, however, McLaren immediately fell well behind the competition. It ensured that Norris was unable to fight with Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc for the lead in the world championship.

McLaren wants to fight for victories with Norris

However, the Grand Prix that took place in Italy two weeks ago should keep Norris happy. Although Ferrari and Red Bull Racing seem to be too high for McLaren for the time being, the stable made clear improvements to the car. Zak Brown thinks Norris can start fighting for victories soon.

"I think as long as we continue to show forward progress, he will be satisfied his win is not far away. I mean, he could have won three races in a row last year," notes Brown in conversation with Formula1.com. "He’s ready to win for sure, we just need to put him in a position to win."
