Max Verstappen impressed during the sprint race for the Imola Grand Prix. The Dutchman stayed close to Charles Leclerc's Ferrari throughout the race, after losing the lead at the start, and eventually managed to overtake him for the win. Giedo van der Garde and Tom Coronel discuss his overtaking action.

Verstappen got away very badly at the start, allowing Leclerc to take the lead of the sprint race. However, the gap between the two rivals remained small throughout the race. Eventually, Leclerc suffered from graining on his tyres, allowing Verstappen to overtake.

During the Viaplay broadcast, Van der Garde and Coronel analysed the Dutchman's overtaking manoevre."At the first and best opportunity he put it next to him and went right past," said Van der Garde. Over the radio Verstappen let it be known that he did not want to be disturbed by his engineer. "You don't want to be disturbed here, it's just because you're totally into it," said Coronel.

World action from Verstappen'

"Of course you have that left hand toggle, maybe some extra power you can use. Verstappen was nicely behind it, at the exit he had a little moment and you think, ooh is he losing something? But then of course you get the DRS zone and then he can come to it nicely. He took the outside and boom, he was past. That was a world class action," said Van der Garde.
