Charles Leclerc may have been the convincing winner during the Australian Grand Prix, but plenty happened behind the top five. Alexander Albon managed to score his first points for his team. According to Jolyon Palmer, there are still plenty of great performances to come, he says at Formula1.com.

Where Nicholas Latifi barely managed to convince for his team in 2021, George Russell managed to take the racing stable by the hand. Despite the inferior car, the British driver fought his way into the middle of the driver field and forced a switch to Mercedes where he became teammate of Lewis Hamilton.

Albon performs satisfactorily at Williams

Albon was given the opportunity to replace Russell. During the GP of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia he finished respectively on the thirteenth and fourteenth place, but in Australia he proved where his qualities lie. The driver took the tenth position and was able to register his first point.

"He’s always been a popular team member," Palmer let us know. "But now he has a result behind him early on, it should give him a lift. There’s no reason why this point won’t be the first of many, as George Russell showed last year."
