Red Bull Racing's car is currently too heavy. In Bahrain, the intention was for the car to lose some kilos already, but the final goal was not achieved by the Austrians.

Red Bull needs to lose weight

During the first race in Bahrain, Red Bull had to lose out to Ferrari. One of the problems of the RB18 is that it is said to be too heavy. Meanwhile, the minimum weight of the car has been increased by the FIA, but Red Bull is still well above it according to Auto, Motor und Sport.

"Actually Milton Keynes wanted to score big and shave between seven and ten kilograms off the RB18. Reportedly, only about half of that was achieved." According to the German medium, it hurts Red Bull extra because the team is obliged to stick to the budget ceiling.

Several teams have too heavy car

Red Bull is not the only team suffering from an overweight car, as according to AMuS the competition is also suffering from this. However, Ferrari would have a slight advantage over Red Bull and Mercedes when it comes to weight.
