Max Verstappen fastest in second practice ahead of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. The Red Bull Racing driver set a time of 1.31.936 to finish the day fastest.

World Champion on top

Verstappen has managed to get his first first of the year. Albeit in a free practice session, the Dutchman should be happy none that the Red Bull is able to put in a competitive time in the session. Especially one that allowed him to be the first man into the 1.31s around the track this season, as well as, beating the charging Ferrari's who have shown top-level speed across both sessions, similar to the World Champion.

Ferrari ones to beat

Once again it's another great session from the prancing horse as they finish second and third respectively as they did in FP1. Although Leclerc seemed to have a bit ahead of his teammate, as there were about five-tenths that separated them. I think we can start to say that Ferrari has built a real title-contending car. Throughout testing, all that was said was to wait until today to see how fast they really are. They have once again appeared to be the fastest team in FP2. If I were Ferrari's competitors I'd be scared of the threat from Sainz and Leclerc this year.

Hulkenberg return

Nico Hulkenberg completes his first day in the new car after coming in to replace Sebastian Vettel who is out with COVID. The German has managed to complete consistent laps in order to help himself understand the car better. The substitute even managed the fifth-fastest time at one point and finished just one-tenth behind his teammate Lance Stroll. The LeMan champion has impressed today and only looks like he'll improve throughout Saturday and Sunday.
