Verstappen compared to Schumacher and Senna: 'Also because of their misbehavior'

According to Martin Brundle, Max Verstappen has gone over the top with his aggressive driving style in 2021. The Brit regrets this, especially because he sees that the Dutchman does not need this at all to win.

World title with a blemish

The 2021 Formula 1 season was finally decided on the last lap of the final race of the season. In Abu Dhabi, Verstappen had some luck with the safety car allowing him to attack Lewis Hamilton on the last lap. The Dutchman placed his attack and won the race and thus his first world title.

Brundle has already shown in several interviews that he is not happy with the outcome of 2021. For example, he previously stated that he thought Michael Masi should leave, he talked about the pain at Mercedes, but he also lamented the fact that Verstappen's first title will always be remembered from that last race.

Verstappen too aggressive

Speaking to Motorsport.com Brundle now addresses the Red Bull Racing driver's style of driving. According to Brundle, Verstappen will not change much about his style, because he is just that aggressive. However, the Briton felt that Verstappen went too far in Saudi Arabia. ''He doesn't need that at all.''

According to Brundle, Verstappen would not need to take such actions at all, because he is good enough to win races without them. With that, the former driver also draws the comparison with Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna, who, according to Brundle, are also always reminded of misbehavior. Verstappen will not change, however, Brundle also sees, so it is mainly up to his competitors to adapt to him.
