Red Bull working hard: 'Can Perez get closer to Verstappen?

Red Bull Racing are preparing for the new season with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. While the Dutchman has been the team's top driver in recent years, the Austrian racing team hopes that Perez will also be a driver who can compete for prizes. Jolyon Palmer keeps a close eye on the situation.

Verstappen showed what he's got last season. Although no driver in recent years managed to beat Mercedes, Verstappen proved strong enough to take on Lewis Hamilton. Perez also tried hard to come close to those times, but he did not succeed at all.

Perez's expectations rise

With the new regulations that apply in the new season Red Bull hopes to get the times of Perez and Verstappen closer together. In doing so, it will also have to take into account the strengths of the Mexican driver to create a car in which Perez can perform at the top of his game.

"It's very difficult to say if this is a car made for Verstappen in the same way in previous years," Palmer noted in conversation with Sky Sports. "I think that will be an interesting reset for Red Bull. Can Perez get closer to Verstappen and push him along a bit more?"
