With the Alfa Romeo, the final Formula One car for the new season has been officially presented. Not only does the team have a new driver duo in Guanyu Zhou and Valtteri Bottas, but the number of sponsors joining the Italian brand is also growing steadily. Alfa Romeo is not the only one with this.

A lot of money

It is a trend that can be seen throughout the paddock: more and more new sponsors are coming to F1 and pay a lot of money to be on the cars. American Oracle, for example, is paying $300 million to be Red Bull Racing's main sponsor. Even the modest Alfa Romeo is popular with financiers. During the presentation of the new car, it was noted that the team announces a new sponsor almost daily.

Especially the smaller teams often had a hard time keeping their heads above water in the past. With the influx of new sponsors, that seems to be a thing of the past. Frederic Vasseur, Alfa Romeo team manager, confirms that it is nice to present a new sponsor every day. According to him, the popularity of Formula 1 is huge at the moment, which makes the sport attractive to backers, he said during the presentation of the 2022 car.

Strong project

"We had the biggest number of spectators in Austin last year and the tv audience is going up," Vasseur said.

"The sport is very attractive, as is the team. We have ambitions, we are building a strong project with new sponsors. It's a great feeling to have new sponsors joing the team every day."
