AlphaTauri looks ahead: 'We have delivered something special'

AlphaTauri have unveiled their new car for the 2022 Formula 1 season. Franz Tost is proud of the new AT03 which he and his team have presented through a video on their own social media channels.

AlphaTauri had a strong season in Formula 1 in 2021, finishing in sixth place in the Constructors' Championship. It was the joint-best best performance in the team's history, but with new rules in place for the 2022 season, the team faces a new challenge and may be hoping to make a leap forward.

Tost is satisfied

"I am excited to finally reveal what our 2022 Formula 1 car will look like. It is a completely new era for F1 and we hope that this package will be very strong, following last year’s success. Once again, we have worked closely with AlphaTauri to launch our new car and I think we’ve managed to deliver something very special" the team boss revealed in the team's press release.

For AlphaTauri it will also be a test of their own qualities. Normally the team always takes parts from the Red Bull car of the previous year, but with completely new regulations this is not possible. Jody Egginton and his team have been required to develop the car themselves this time around.

"It’s not easy to estimate where the teams will be because everything is new, from the mechanical to the aerodynamic side, but I personally hope that the cars will be closer together. Realistically, we will only have an idea of how well Scuderia AlphaTauri will perform after the first tests, and we’ll have to wait until after the first two or three races to have a better picture" Tost added.
