Sainz happy with preparation: 'Nothing can match that'

Carlos Sainz appeared at the Fiorano circuit on Thursday to prepare for the new Formula 1 season. The Spaniard found it a very useful morning, he revealed in an interview with Soymotor.com.

The new regulations make it even more important for drivers to prepare optimally for the new season. As the new Formula 1 year starts in less than two months, Sainz is using his time optimally.

"At the moment we are working in the simulator, like the rest of the drivers, or training very hard in the gym. But when it comes to the body, nothing can match being in the car," he stresses. "That's why it's always very useful for a driver to be able to drive before the start of the season, whatever car. It gives your body a wake-up call and reminds you what it means to be a Formula One driver."

Ferrari wants to fight back

After Sainz went to work in the morning, it was Carlos Leclerc's turn a few hours later. Ferrari is hoping to catch up with the top teams this season and soon be back fighting for the world title. In 2021 the Italian team finished third in the Constructors' Championship.
