Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton will fight for the world title at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. As both drivers have an equal number of points, it is difficult to predict which driver will win the race. What happened on Friday in Saudi Arabia?

Verstappen has advantage in long runs

The Dutchman set the first and fourth fastest times during the first two free practice sessions, which left him reasonably satisfied. Verstappen's performance in the long runs was even more positive. The Red Bull Racing driver was a lot quicker than Hamilton, which gives him a better feeling going into Saturday afternoon's qualifying session.

Hamilton and Verstappen relaxed in Abu Dhabi

While the entire Formula 1 world is in turmoil ahead of Sunday's race, Hamilton and Verstappen appear to be under little pressure. Both drivers were relaxed in front of the cameras on Friday and showed that they want to continue the battle on track. This Sunday they will be sharp enough to get the maximum out of their car.

Hind Laroussi performs at world title Verstappen

Should Verstappen manage to secure the world title, a special surprise awaits him. Hind Laroussi flew over to Abu Dhabi to perform the Dutch national anthem when Verstappen wins the title. It would be the first time that a Dutchman would win the world title.

Pirelli fears blowout

However, it is not certain that Verstappen and Hamilton will finish the race. Pirelli warns that the kerbs in Abu Dhabi could cause a blowout. The Italian tyre manufacturer points to the exit of turns five and nine, where the kerbs are said to be rather high and pointed. The discussions with the FIA are said to be ongoing.
