Earlier this week Helmut Marko announced that Max Verstappen has already completed his first kilometres on the track. Alexander Albon and Lando Norris were in an F3 car and Mercedes revealed that it will let Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas drive at Silverstone to prepare for the start of the season. Ferrari obviously cannot stay behind.

According to information from the official Formula 1 website, the Italian race team will hit the track sometime in the coming weeks. Where and when this will be exactly will be announced.

The regulations state that older Formula 1 cars can be used for unlimited testing purposes, but the requirement is that they are built in a maximum of three calendar years for the current calendar year.

The Formula 1 season of 2020 will start on 3 July with the free practice sessions for the Austrian Grand Prix. The drivers will then not have been in the car for about four months, so it can't hurt to make some kilometres before that time.
