W Series CEO hopeful training programme can help prepare for female drivers for F1

W Series CEO is confident the 2020 Driver Training Programme will provide the correct preparation to put female drivers into Formula 1. The testing programme brings in starts from a range of different sports and broadcasting to help improve drivers. 

Athlete Jessica Ennis-Hill and snooker player Jimmy White are all involved in the programme. Catherine Bond Muir, the CEO of the W Series has confidence in the system. Modules will include media skill, nutrition, physical fitness, performance culture and psychometrics

“We are committed to developing the best female drivers in the world and this means investment in skills and training as well as access to our proven international racing series," said Catherine Bond Muir. 

"In this way, we believe we will help our drivers realise their full potential and prepare them for competition in the elite formulae of motorsport – perhaps even Formula 1, in time."
