Hulkenberg is proud: "Most points since I have been here with the team"

Nico Hulkenberg slipped ahead of Sebastian Vettel in the early exchanges of the Italian Grand Prix. Even though he couldn't hold that place, the German stayed in the top five. The Renault driver is proud of his achievement.

"We knew after Spa that we would have a good chance here. The car and engine are good for this circuit and it is nice to finally get the earned points. It is the largest number of points we have collected in a racing weekend since I have been here, so that I have a nice weekend then," Hulkenberg tells Sky Sports.

"The first stint I was not comfortable with. Ricciardo passed me by and then I could reasonably stay in his slipstream. That gave us a gap to the rest of the midfield and that helped in the end," says the German.

"Singapore is a very different circuit. There are of course many bends there and it is just a different circuit than what we had here. It is the toughest race of the season, but hopefully with some update,s we can continue the good shape of these two races," Hulkenberg concludes.
