Renault's chassis technical director, Nick Chester, has said that the 2019 rule changes will be 'much bigger' than the introduction of the Halo last season.

The 2019 rule changes will be dramatic according to Renault's chassis technical director.

The changes for 2019 include wider front wings, taller rear wings and a 5kg increase in the amount of fuel allowed per car.

Last season Chester spoke to racefans.net about the introduction of the Halo.

“It wasn’t too big a change actually,” he said.“The reg changes in terms of how we developed were fairly small.

“We still changed the car quite a lot because we learned a lot in ’17 that we wanted to put it into the ’18 car, But the main concepts were fairly similar."

Halo “wasn’t a game-changer” for the design team last year, said Chester. “The changes from ’18 to ’19 will be much bigger,” he added.

The rule changes have been implemented in order to improve the racing between cars. Ross Brawn believes that there will be a 20% increase in overtaking. Do you agree?
