Mercedes boss Toto Wolff believes Lewis Hamilton's regligious beliefs shouldn't be judged, but considered as a key feature of why the Brit is a serial winner.
Hamilton is leading the drivers' championship, as it stands - ahead of Sebastian Vettel, with the two men ready to continue their fierce rivarly at the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend.
The two drivers both have four world titles at the moment and are desperate to add a fifth to their trophy cabinet.
Toto Wolff believes Hamilton is the best of his generation and believes that Hamilton's faith gives him more power.
"Lewis has a very clear vision of what he believes," the Mercedes boss said to F1i.com. "It makes him the most successful, modern driver in Formula One. And I think we should see it as an inspiration how he can find more and more strength in difficult periods."
Hamilton has recently said that he felt like "God had his hand over me", as many criticised Lewis for his religious beliefs.
"It gives him an exceptional power," Wolff added. "And where I come from, I have learned not to judge people on what they need to perform well."
The Mercedes driver has won the last two grands prix in Germany and Hungary and will be looking to make it a European hat-trick on Sunday as F1 returns from its summer break to take on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
