Sebastian Vettel enjoys weekend away from F1 racing

Sebastian Vettel won the British Grand Prix last weekend, helping him relax in the first off weekend since the tripleheader. In an interview with the Guardian, he talks about a range of feelings when he isn't on track.

The German is pleased to have put himself in a pole position for the title fight.

"It is something you want, you want to be in a close rivalry. You want to be in a position so you can fight for victory, that is the ultimate satisfaction, of course, it is more intense when it is closer," the Championship leader said.

In his week off, he has returned to normal life. The four-time world champion doesn't take his celebrity sports status for granted. When he isn't racing, he does all the normal jobs you'd expect of a 31-year-old.

“I am happy to do things that people think are boring but for me they are not, being at home, mowing the lawn. I cook, not so good, but from time to time. I do the school run, I go shopping, I take the metro and the bus.”

Next weekend Vettel will be the home favourite. He will be doing all he can to prevent Hamilton returning the favour in Hockenheim.
