Alpine's Formula 1 team hired Circuit Zandvoort for two days of testing with the 2022 car. Australian Jack Doohan took the seat.

Doohan finished third in the 2022 Formula 2 championship and is also a test driver for Alpine. The Australian has now got behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car. There are strict rules in Formula 1 when it comes to testing. Apart from a handful of filming days, a team is only allowed to test with cars that are at least two years old.

Bad season start at Alpine

Alpine have not had a positive start to the season so far. After six races in 2024, the constructor's tally is one singular point after Esteban Ocon finished tenth at the last race in Miami. Both Alpine drivers, Ocon and Pierre Gasly, do not have a contract for 2025 yet. Perhaps Doohan can use the test in The Netherlands to put himself in the spotlight at Alpine.
